USHER!!!!
For the 4th of July weekend, Joe and I went to go see one of our absolute FAVORITE artists in concert - USHER!! He was awesome!!! I didn't take my camera because I wasn't sure what the Korean's policy was for that, but it turns out it would've been fine. Oh well. But since I didn't get my own pictures of him, I found some on the internet that will have to suffice.
Koreans LOVE making this little heart with their hands - in pictures, to say I love you to someone, etc. The minute Usher got out on stage, he made the heart! They went wild!!!! It was awesome. He also made a big heart with his arms later in the show that melted their hearts as well. =) They love making the peace sign in pictures too, so that was a hit as well. He was a great performer, and we had an amazing time. And I got to sing along with Usher!! How much better can life be?!
We went out to dinner at a nearby Korean restaurant after the concert because we were hungry and we wanted to let the concert crowd clear out of the subway a bit before getting back on it. One the way back though we saw two girls with t-shirts they'd made. The fronts said "USHER" and the backs said "...is my Seoul mate." Super cute. =)

Backtrack to Joe's Birthday Week!
*Quick side note: Select pictures are posted here - the highlights if you will. The complete photo journal can be found on our shutterfly site soon.*
Okay, so Joe had a change-of-command ceremony down in Daegu Mon. - Wed. and then he had another one in Yongsan from Wed. - Fri. I went down to Yongsan via one of the military buses (most of which are free! Some are $4.75 depending on how far you're going...but that SO beats the subway (not in price, but in comfyness)! And they're charter buses, so tons of room, comfy, you can sleep...love them. =) and we got to stay at our favorite - The Dragon Hill Lodge - from Wed. to Sun.!
Here's the breakdown of what went down:
Wed. we went to Sables for dinner - a really nice little restaurant in The Dragon. Delicious and romantic. What more could a woman want? =)
Thurs. evening Jessie came down for one last visit before going back to the states for the summer. We went to Sables again. =) Mmmmm!
Fri. June 11th was Joe's 27th birthday!! Happy birthday baby!!!!!!! I decorated our room the night before so when Joe came up in the morning (he had to stay in the barracks Wed. to Fri. to look after his soldiers) it was party central! =) He opened his presents from me and Mom and Dad and then we went to the bakery for breakfast.
Then Joe had the change-of-command ceremony and I got to go. Very cool. Very, very cool.
That evening we went on another double date with Chun and his girlfriend Jeeyong. (He and Joe share a birthday, just like Jeeyong and I do!! What are the odds?!??) They took us to their favorite Italian restaurant and it was AH-MA-ZING! We also visited the largest Catholic church in South Korea. Gorgeous!!! Then we took a boat ride (like dinner cruise but w/o the dinner) down the Han river. It was so much fun!! Most of the pics came out horrible b/c I couldn't figure out the night settings. Dumb. But Joe played with it and any pictures that look remotely good from that trip, he took. =) Another fun thing happened on his birthday, we made a baby!! =)
Sat. Joe and I went to 63 building. So awesome! It is 63 stories high (hence, the name) and mostly filled with offices, but also holds an aquarium, an art gallery and performance theater, an Imax theater, a wax museum, lots of shops and restaurants and an observatory and art gallery combo on the top floor. Wow. We did everything but shopping, the art gallery/performance theater combo and the Imax. What a day!! Sucky that it was raining like crazy and foggy as ever and all we could see were clouds when we got to the top!! But luckily we'd bought annual passes for just a smidgen more, so we can go back whenever we want!
Sun. we went to the zoo! That was a lot of fun. The highlights for Joe were the large cats and birds of prey. For me it was definitely, absolutely, hands down, the peacocks. I also really liked the little primate nursery! So cute. =)
So there you have it folks!! Welcome to our fun little world. =) xoxox
